By enabling this if faults are found then remedial actions can be planned either as time critical or in a more relaxed way. This assists engineering teams to manage their time accordingly by assigning priority to faults on equipment which is essential to the operation of the site and planning remedial work on faults non-essential to site activities at a date which might be convenient. The fault severity grade will assist with this decision making process.
